Since the late 1980's I've also been making a different sort of art piece, something like the Sand Painting traditions of Tibetan and Native American cultures in which the painstakingly detailed creation is made for healing purposes, then blown to the winds. A practice of Non-Attachment.
This is my feeling about Praesepean Session Work, which I developed, practice and teach in Europe and the U.S. (www.praesepeansessionwork.com)
The rigorous discipline required by that work has ultimately led me, cleansed, back to also making Things: paintings and drawings, art works which hang around longer and potentially speak to a broader group.

1986 house/studio fire destroys most existing work; within a few months Tom Benson dies suddenly.

1976-1985 Showing (Hera Gallery, Suzette Schocket Gallery), curating and teaching (New Haven, Providence, Maine) East Coast U.S.

1970-87 private study with Tom Benson (Newport, Rhode Island).

1970-72 Marlboro College, Vermont.
